Just posted this on Youtube so I thought i’d share it with you all too. This is one of my favorite Stevie recordings, because you see how nutty she really is behind the scenes. This is right after she wrote Julia and she’s trying to lay down the first piano demo with Shelly at 3am on a Friday night. Robin and Sara are apparently there too. Stevie says “fuck” like 3 times and throws a fit over a “fucking note that is haunting her”, then exclaims that she is both “neurotic and schizophrenic”. She also threatens to not make “mozzarella and tomatoes” for Shelly. Then she starts yelling to Robin that she needs a line of coke (which she refers to as a “toot”), and when nobody gets her the blow, she walks away muttering “Obviously nobody’s going to get me it so i’ll just get up and get it myself!”
